San Francisco 1981, Day in the life of tenant organizer Joe Singleton.
As the reagan counter-revolution prepares to pounce on the poor, the dispossessed and their supporters, Joe toils in the town's tenderloin district.
The city is already plagued by rising rents, rampant evictions, and incipient gentrification. Joe joins forces with those fighting to keep their homes in residential hotels.
Together they resist the evil efforts of unscrupulous property owners and scurrilous real estate speculators who are trying to convert the hotels into quick stops for the tourist trade.
